Five Star Honeybee Rating is based on the following criteria. Location, Parking & Access: Toilet facilities & Access: Customer Service: Atmosphere & Suitability: Food & Cost.

Review Melissa It was with great anticipation on my part that we visited this location. They do a lot of advertising on Facebook and I thought the location looked really pretty as it is set on a manmade lake. This cafe is the latest from Maison Saint Honore patisserie & restaurants across the Perth metro areas. This little gem popped up in the last year in the sleepy suburb of Ellenbrook. I have been a frequent visitor to their Cafe Praline.

Location We approached this location using the newly finished Tonkin Hwy coming from the northern suburb of Wangara, and found it relatively easy to find and in a short time through Google maps.

Parking & Access On this particular day, a Thursday, there was plenty of parking. We could not find or see any dedicated disabled parking, but there is a lot of choice. I am not sure how you would go if it was really busy though. The cafe doesn't really cater for hoards of people with limited seating, so it may not be an issue.

Toilet Facilities On entering we took note of the disabled toilets, which were clean and located in an area that has wheelchair access outside at the back of the cafe. There is also ample access to enter the cafe from multiple points that allow for wheelchairs, walking frames, and oxygen trolleys like mine.

Customer Service When we walked into the cafe we were greeted by friendly staff and a visual feast of the array of patisserie on offer. Quite an entrance! We were invited to sit anywhere we would like, given plastic menus and told to come up to the counter when we were ready to order. The ordering process was efficient and the delivery of our food and beverages was done in a timely manner. The cafe was not overly busy so this would need to be taken into account. The staff are friendly, efficient and relaxed.

Atmosphere & Suitability The first thing I look at is if everything is clean! I am pleased to say that it was and we happily found a nice big table to work from, as this was a work meeting after all. The chairs and tables are comfortable and well spaced out if you need to accommodate walkers, oxygen trolleys or even a wheelchair. Everything is light and bright and modern with just enough of a French twist to make you believe you may actually be on the Riviera! The faux fireplace was a nice touch. There is definitely a touch of the Hamptons styling to the inside, which I loved. Fresh individual water bottles and glasses were stationed conveniently for self-serve, and there was a welcoming basket of light throw rugs to utilise if you were cold. We found the cafe to be a lovely ambient temperature. You are surrounded by water on two sides of the cafe which you can view through the huge glass bi-fold doors, which is really lovely. I imagine in summer the grapevines are in full bloom and the white picnic tables underneath filled to capacity with much laughter and conversation over some good food. I would recommend this venue for someone with a disability that is physical in nature as I felt very comfortable there.

Food & Cost The cost was about the average you would expect to pay at any good cafe considering it is a Boutique cafe with French style food. Helen and I decided to share a savoury breakfast crepe of smoked salmon, cheese, herbs and hollandaise sauce. It was delicious and no problem that we wanted to share, extra plates and cutlery were provided as well as extra hollandaise! YUM We both had regular flat whites, I am a complete coffee snob so mine was ok... but I am very fussy. :) It was hot and frothy on top. Later we moved onto dessert. In my opinion you should start with it! Wow, so much to choose from. I am someone who really enjoys authentic pastries and cakes so again I am quite fussy. We decided to share two of the desserts, the eclair and the layered chocolate cake, more coffee for Helen and a mocha for me this time. :) Well I do declare this is possibly the best eclair I have ever eaten. We inhaled these desserts and then I went up and purchased a whole box of cakes and pastries to take home with me. My husband and I enjoyed those for several days....It is just as well I don't live any closer as I could develop a real issue with popping over to buy their wares :))

Finishing Touches Overall this was a pleasant experience for both of us. Neither of us was feeling particularly well that day so it was a great way to do some work. The wifi password was happily shared with us. If you are going with a crowd I would definitely book in advance and consider experiencing their afternoon tea menu. It was a nice way to spend a few hours eating some delicious food in a really gorgeous setting.

Honeybee Rating = 4 out of 5 (one bee down due to possible parking issues).
